Topic: Social Movement Communication

National environmental groups employ a range of features and functions on their websites to further social movement communication. Drawing on a content analysis of US national environmental movement websites and interviews with their webmasters, I discuss how these groups use the web, as well as their strategies, goals and capacities for Web use.  Ultimately, this presentation highlights the opportunities and constraints environmental groups face in using the World Wide Web as a communication resource.
